Busy Bees Māpua is a childcare and early education centre for children from around three months to school age, offering three age-appropriate rooms: Pēpi (up to two years), Poutama (two to three years) and Aranui (four to six years). The outdoor play area includes a bike track and native garden. The centre follows Te Whāriki, the New Zealand ECE curriculum, and offers 20 Hours ECE for children aged three to five.
Busy Bees Mapua is the most welcoming and nurturing preschool centre. There is always activities for the children to do, whether inside or outside. Along with the additional excursions for the older Tamariki. The teachers are caring, supportive and encourage the children to do their best. Couldn’t ask for more!

My son has been at Busy Bees for about 6 weeks now and to say he loves it is an understatement. All the girls adore him and he adores them back. Communication is brilliant. I have complete trust in all the teachers which has made going back to work so much easier. 💜

I have had two kids that have attended busy bees and they have both loved this center. It is unique to Mapua with a friendly atmosphere, amazing teachers and bespoke activities that you won’t get other places like swimming classes and trips to the park incorporated into the day. It also has a large outdoor area, a bike track and a vege garden. We couldn’t ask for anything more.

We would absolutely recommend you to others. The communication is always clear, and the care for our baby has been wonderful. The team is very attentive to signs of tiredness, hunger, or discomfort, and they respond to what our baby needs in a gentle and caring way. They know the daily routine and cues well, and they keep us updated throughout the day. When they’re unsure about something, they always check in with us, which we really appreciate. It’s always a warm and welcoming atmosphere when you arrive: they greet you, ask how your day has been, and share how your child’s day went. They tell you what activities your child enjoyed and fill in a daily journey so you know when they’ve slept, eaten, and been changed. We chose this centre because it’s smaller and more personal, with a wonderful outdoor space that really suits our lifestyle and values as rural parents. It feels like a perfect fit for us — calm, nurturing, and well-aligned with how we want our baby to grow and explore. They do lovely activities and adapt them to suit each child’s interests. We truly feel our child is in great hands and cared for as an individual.
