I called every mechanic in town after a breakdown in Cobb valley and Shane at SP Mechanical gave a great vibe and friendly service even just over the phone. He was able to diagnose the car in under 15 minutes once I was back in town and booked me in asap. They are very upfront with pricing and even make sure you look at the computer screen so you know they aren’t ripping you off. I was very happy with the service and their ability to make a high stress situation less stressful. I even got my timing belt replaced with them the following week. They are honest mechanics who do a good job. As a traveler I appreciate how easy they made it for me and I didn’t have to do any dances to make sure they don’t take advantage of me. I can recommend them to anyone

While visiting Takaka I had some issues with my car the night before I had to head back to Christchurch. Shane was able to squeeze me in first thing in the morning and get me sorted for the drive. I would gladly return to him if I'm ever that way again.

My favourite mechanic! I can’t say I ever wanted to have a favourite mechanic but when this much shit goes wrong, it’s nice to have someone reliable, honest and timely. We really appreciate all your help guys
