About
Zappekin Artists & Allies is an art collective in a historic fruit-shed on the Motueka Estuary, at 3 Wood Loop on the highway between Mapua and Motueka. Half of the building holds resident artist studios; the other half is a communal space used for a rotation of projects, including art residencies, creative gatherings and markets. In summer, artists staff a pop-up gallery selling ceramics, jewellery, clothing and sculpture, with all sales supporting the artists directly.

Great spot!! So fun walking around reading the Kingdom of Klah stories/descriptions on shirts etc. Very awkward right turn to get here when you鈥檙e exiting Motueka though so be cautious/only turn when safe to do so 馃┓

A positive homegrown cultural revolution in our back yards. Featuring but not limited to wonder, awe, art and eccentric artists. Well worth the detour.

I 100% recommend the hostel. It's huge and has all the options to sleep there. Kely is very kind and is available for whatever you need. It's very comfortable to live and stay! Those who are lucky enough to know it, enjoy it.馃槉馃尭
