Abel Tasman Kayaks

Did the 2-day park start kayak rental trip and highly recommend this company! We appreciated the thorough preparation info provided on their website, and the few additional questions we had before the trip were responded to promptly via email. The trip logistics were totally seamless, from the arranged camping permits to the water taxi transport. The staff were great as well. All rented equipment was in good repair and high quality. The only issue we had was the sleeping bags we rented were a bit cold for the chilly shoulder season nights. We were especially impressed by the thorough trip info and safety briefings, which are long for the overnight trips, but I think this is totally warranted having been on a previous kayaking trip elsewhere that was extremely sketchy. With Abel Tasman Kayaks I felt confident that in the unlikely event of an emergency I would be taken care of. The park of course was the star of the show! We had incredible weather and beautiful conditions for paddling. The seal colonies were a treat. Just watch out for the wekas, they will get their beaks into anything you turn your back on!

We did the remote marine reserve overnight where we kayaked day 1 and hiked day 2. It was amazing!!! This is such a cool way to get to explore the park in different ways. Our kayak guide, Scarlet, was fantastic! The water taxis were great and the whole trip was well communicated. They were also very flexible and let us hike all the way back to Mārahau instead of taking the water taxi the last bit. The rental tent and gear were as expected and delivered with ease. The staff were all very helpful in answering our questions before the trip as well!

We had Ed, from Canada. His name in NZ id Eeed, of course. What a cool dude. Very passionate and knowledgeable about the park and ecosystem at Abel Tasman. The paddle was great. Its about 2.5 hours of easy paddling. He had us pull up along side to ask questions. He kept up the discussion about the area and what we were seeing. Great lunch by the way, and and was totally committed to serving. He's got a great future ahead of him, whatever he decides to take on. A big thanks to the entire team. You have a smooth operation, quality equipment, and paradise to make it all work. Cheers!

Used the Company two days in a row for water taxis to take us up to different parts of the Abel Tasman track. Everyone with the company was helpful and friendly and funny. Although it was really just a shuttle service for us, they added to the pleasure of the trip with their helpful suggestions and cheerful personalities.

Great experience! Our guide Micah was awesome, friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole trip really enjoyable. The kayaking was beautiful and well organized, and the lunch sandwiches were surprisingly amazing. Highly recommend!
