Awaroa Campsite
About
Awaroa Campsite is a Department of Conservation campground on the Mosquito Bay to Awaroa section of the Abel Tasman Coast Track, within Abel Tasman National Park. Access is by walking or boat only, with no drive-on road. The site offers 18 non-powered tent sites beside an estuary, hand-washing sinks and a fireplace, and bookings are required in advance. Dogs are not permitted.
Reviews
A small campsite with kitchen building and toilets. Getting to it from Awaroa Lodge the short way involves getting wet from between your ankles to your waist depending on the tide. The short way is about 20 minutes walk. The longer way is about 1 hr 30 min walk. I definitely recommend staying at Awaroa Lodge, beach, or the pizza/bar place beside Awaroa Lodge for as long as possible, and just make your way to the campsite when you need to.
