Connings Kitchen is a café and deli inside the Connings Food Market store on McShane Road in Appleby. It serves coffee and hot and cold drinks, raw and sweet treats, lunch options, and take-home meals for dinner. The kitchen uses produce grown by the family-owned Connings Market Garden, including surplus produce that doesn't make it onto the market's shelves. Coffee is a highlight, and the cafe offers dine-in seating and takeaway.
Had the beetroot and walnut salad. Wonderful. Tender caramelised walnuts and perfectly tender vegetables. Full of lots of flavours. A next level salad.

Stopped in for a sandwich and a muffin. The sandwich was so delicious and fresh, full of delicious meat, pesto, pickles etc. At $11 this was a bargain compared to what I would pay in Christchurch. Also grabbed a chocolate berry muffin which was damn good too. Service was very friendly.

Well done all except the nashi from China. I thought it was a cool stored NZ grown one. I took one bite. It was tasteless and dry. Otherwise everything was up to scratch.
