This is the perfect place to stay and explore Golden Bay from. The hosts, Pete and Donna, are very welcoming and the accommodation is outstanding. It's spacious, comfortable, clean and absolute beachfront. So, even if it rains every day (like it did for me), you can enjoy the view of the garden and beach in comfort.

We were looking for a convenient and accessible location as a docking station for a star trek in the Golden Bay Tasman Reserve area. We were looking for a spacious place, with privacy, and after an extensive search in the area, we arrived at the Golden Bay Retreat website and were not sure what it was about because there were no reviews, but we realized that the place was probably new and so it was. From the moment we entered the property, we realized that we had chosen well. The place really feels like home, with a sea view and quick access to the beach. A fifteen-minute drive will bring you to town for shopping at the supermarket and restaurants. The staff at the place is charming and was a response to everything we needed. We highly recommend - don't miss it :)
