Harakeke Boutique Accommodation

We spent three weeks in New Zealand - Mike and Donna's place was our favorite among all the hotels and rentals we stayed, moreso than even the Park Hyatt in Auckland. The unit is new, modern, clean, and well appointed. You can tell they spared no expense in building their home and this rental. The view is incredible out the back patio. Items for breakfast are included and refreshed daily. We cooked dinner here and they had everything we needed, including a grill for the steaks. Having a washer/dryer was a godsend on such a long trip like this. It's well positioned to get to the Abel Tasman ferries and is close to a number of wineries. There was a ton to do in the area but also ample opportunity to relax. If you are looking to book something in the Nelson area... I'd highly recommend doing so here.

Beautiful, amazingly equipped accommodation with a superb lap pool. So close to Abel Tasman. Mike and Donna incredibly helpful and friendly hosts.

We absolutely loved our week here! Donna & Mike are two of the kindest & most generous people you could wish to meet and are fabulous hosts. The breakfast supplies were such a treat! :-) The bed was supremely comfortable (the best one in our 4 months of traveling in New Zealand) & the bathroom is beautiful. The whole place is spotlessly clean & extremely well maintained. It was a pleasure to stay here. We loved the hot tub on the deck & really appreciated the access to the pool, which was lovely. Even though the apartment is attached to the house, it does feel very private. Donna & Mike's 2 labradoodles stopped by occasionally to say "Hello" - they are adorable :-) The house is incredibly peaceful & relaxing ... and super accessible for Mapua, the Moutere vineyards, Abel Tasman & Nelson - a great area to explore and we would highly recommend staying here to experience Donna & Mike's amazing hospitality. Donna and Mike run an incredible operation at Harakeke Boutique Accommodation. They are such generous, thoughtful hosts! The accommodations themselves are stunning and very private. My wife and I stayed there over Christmas 2024 and enjoyed walks on the trails on property and surrounding areas, along with trips to nearby Mapua, Rabbit Island beach, Nelson and other areas. After a busy few days leading up to our stay, we were also happy to rest in our completely separate suite, and enjoyed the hot tub, the westerly panoramic views and nighttime fires. Donna and Mike have created something so very special and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind get away.
