My husband and I are doing the Great Taste Trail through Cycle Journeys and they arrange all the accommodation. We were lucky to come here for 1 night at Kōhatu ( near Tapawera) as Rachel and Dave are such lovely people. Rachel has thought of everything for the bnb, providing wonderful “ kai” and generous amounts of food for our stay. Rachel very kindly baked croissants for us, which were so delicious. Many thanks for going to so much effort Rachel! Dave’s sculptures, spread out over a peaceful native garden are amazing in their originality and creativeness. The meandering walk through the garden is really restorative. Dave is an impressive artist making works of beauty out of wood, old saws etc. I very much enjoyed a video, he kindly let me and my husband watch, that he created in response to society’s meat eating focus. Rachel and Dave’s bnb is very special and we hope our friends and family may have the opportunity to stay at this place.

We had a wonderful time in the woods searching for mushrooms amongst the sculpture. Lovely to meet Rachel.

Great find on our drive to Abel Tasman. Quirky, fun and even bought a birthday present for my sister!

We recently spent a truely lovely night staying with Rachel and Dave in their charming cottage in the Hidden Sculpture Garden while on a biking trip. Rachel left all the ingredients (plus recipes) for our delicious dinner and breakfast. The garden was so interesting with another creation to see around each turn in the pathway. We would highly recommend the experience.
