Great hostel. It’s very clean and tidy character cottage with beautiful gardens to sit back and enjoy the sun. Amazing games room. With pool, ping pong , loads of games and movies. There’s an out door kitchen for a summer bbq and bikes to use to get around town. The owners are also super friendly. I’ll be back next time I’m up that way .

Stayed in Kiwiana for about 2 weeks, it is a good place to stay in Takaka, just 5mins walk to fresh choice, really convenient! And the owners are super friendly as well and I miss them now~ I really like their beds are so clean , especially the shower rooms and toilets, it’s so dry and clean! And that make me feel good and just want to stay there as long as I can. Hahaha. They have the game lounge, and they have monopoly! Crazy! And you can play the ping pong, pool there as well. Oh you can enjoy sitting on the couch and watch the movies there too. I will go back if I got a chance 😎coz I really really like the lovely owner, game lounge and the atmosphere there! And hope to see you again Kiwiana~

Loved my stay here, we stayed for almost 2 weeks, great facilities, amazing hot showers with great water pressure. And great for rainy days with the play room which has pool table, ping pong table sofas and a tv

We just stayed for a long weekend, but we'll likely come back and stay here again! I can completely understand the other positive feedback you can read here! Tina and everyone (wether woofing or just staying here) have a great humor, to have a chat, tip or really get to know better! The tandems were a first for me, but if you can, come with a car!

Such an amazing hostel (and I’m not just saying that because there’s a cute cat named Gin hanging around)! From the second I arrived the owners were kind and hospitable, giving me lots of advice about fun to be had in the area.The hostel is full of amazing kiwi knickknacks, funny dorm/bed names, and a lounge room that is full to the brim is excellent activities and books for a rainy day. There’s plenty of parking available, and the hostel is a 10 minute walk (if you meander very slowly, which I do) into town. Past backpackers/workers have painted some incredible murals around the place, including some gorgeous LOTR works. Kiwiana is an excellent spot to stay, and I will happily go again the next time I’m anywhere near Golden Bay!
