Kohatu Flat Rock Cafe is a fully licensed cafe on the Motueka Valley Highway at Kohatu, serving homemade cabinet food, Underground coffee and New Zealand wines. The property has EV chargers, free charging for Great Taste Trail cyclists, and private parking for self-contained NZMCA vehicles. Its veranda overlooks the mountain backdrop used in the first Lord of the Rings film.

We stopped here when we dropped a customer off at the start of the Spooners section of Great Taste Trail. The coffee was nice and I at a sausage roll which I enjoyed. I love that there is a Cafe on route from Nelson to Murchison and the vibes were high in the sun with the Vero Car Rally vintage cars all stopping aswell.

Fantastic! Chips: unmatched- perfection, crispy. Espresso: clean, fresh, sweet Side salad: Fresh!! So fresh, lightly dressed with fresh herbs. So refreshing I've never been disappointed with he menu food here! Will be back every time we are this way. I'll be dreaming of those chips till then. Thanks guys.
