Mountain Valley Honey is a family-owned honey producer based at Spring Grove, Brightwater, at the top of New Zealand's South Island. In December 2024, Matt and Sarah Goldsworthy took over the business, continuing its focus on raw, unpasteurised and uncreamed honey. The company's bees forage across remote native forests, mountains and valleys throughout the region, and honey is packed and dispatched directly from the site.
We were e cited to go to a honey tasting, but found in arrival that it was a bit bare bones. The young woman allowed us to freely sample the honey varieties, but didn't provide information or education. She mentioned that they were looking to upgrade the experience, so maybe we can try again in the future. The honey was absolutely worth the visit, and I bought a small jar of Autumn Gold to take home.

I absolutely love Mountain Valley Honey! The quality is amazing — it’s rich, pure, and full of natural flavour. You can really taste the difference from regular store-bought honey. The packaging is lovely and eco-friendly, and my order arrived quickly. It’s clear they really care about their bees and their customers. I’ll definitely be buying again and telling friends about it!
