Murchison Lodge

The host is fantastic in every way. The food is homemade bread, his own garden and orchard produce, & his own free range eggs. He's hospitable and amiable. The beds have heated mattress pads. He really does need a mesh network to send the upstairs... A trivial point.

This is a GREAT PLACE,It is quite place where you can relax and unwind and look at the views. Philip the host was amazing. He looked after us from the minute we got there. He makes an amazing breakfast to your liking and is plentiful. I would highly recommend staying here.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Philip is a terrific host and makes a great breakfast. Our room, Tui, with it's own deck, was perfect for us to dry out our fishing gear. The lodge is on a quiet street with only the sound of birds. Meeting their son Ben was a bonus, a charming little boy. Thanks for a great stay. Pam and Jack

We had a great stay at Murchison Lodge, the entire place is lovely and cosy, and the fantail room feels more spacious than it looks on the pictures, especially the bathroom! We also loved the breakfast range including the homemade bread. Would come back any time!

Murchison Lodge is a little piece of paradise! As you arrive, you are surrounded by exquisite views and beautiful bird songs. There is a little kiosk where we were lucky enough to play some music in the perfect setting, amongst the babbling river and bird calls. The house is gorgeous and perfectly blends into its surroundings. As you enter, you will find that it is just as beautiful inside! There, we met Phillip who is the best Airbnb host ever! He made us feel right at home and made sure we had everything we needed. We discovered a gorgeous living room with fireplace and a big kitchen with a stunning view of the gardens! You can tell that a lot of care has been put into decorating and arranging the house! Our room with ensuite bathroom was so beautiful and comfortable! You can tell that Phillip has gone above and beyond to make this place feel like home. All the details make you smile and enjoy your stay. Breakfast was a feast for the eyes and for our taste buds! The home made bread and scones with home made jam were a highlight. Phillip cooked us the most delicious eggs! In summary, this is the perfect place to disconnect from everything and just enjoy life! It was hard to leave and I hope to be back soon!!
