Nelson Coastal Barnstay is a self-contained holiday cottage on Aporo Road near Mapua and Ruby Bay in the Tasman District wine and apple growing region. The Barn sleeps up to six or seven guests across two bedrooms, with a private deck, mountain views and a track to a nearby beach. Owners Jenny and Tony Bielby keep farmyard animals including a kune kune pig and two alpacas. Google Business Profile lists it as a holiday home rated 4.7 from seven reviews.

One of the nicest places I’ve stayed. Wooden cottage with lots of space, beautifully situated with a view over the snow capped mountains and sunset. Wood heater inside and wood provided. Alpacas and pig (Dudley) 10 metres away, which you can feed and even brush. Coffee provided, even including nespresso milk foamer. Fresh eggs from the chickens provided. Comfortable living room with rocking chair by the fireplace. Lots of windows, so very light inside. Beautiful garden full of flowers and herbs. Beds with electric blankets. Very quiet at night, and lively concert of birds in the morning. Walking path to the beach which takes a few minutes. As I said, one of the nicest, special places I’ve stayed at during the many travels I’ve done over the world!

I've really enjoyed staying at NCB. I would recommend the fantastic setting and loved the farm animals. The hosts are fabulous, really attentive, friendly and made us really right at home.

Cosy warm barns with beautiful views. Great gardens and was great to see the animals on the property. Short walk down to the beach. Always a great relaxing stay! 5 star! Recommended!
