Nikau Cafe & Bar

The burger was amazing and the salmon pizza was absolutely delicious—so fresh and tasty! Great beer. Definitely a must-visit in Pohara!

I have a lot of odd food restrictions and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I could eat my delicious meal. The staff were so lovely and of a kind nature! The art work and general vibe of the place was incredible! I highly recommend!

Yesterday, my partner and I had the opportunity to try Nikou cafe and it was amazing! The two ladies who were working last night were super welcoming and friendly. I had a glass of wine, Riesling, and he got a beer for drinks both were great with our meals. We both got the New Zealand ribeye steak with the blue cheese sauce, assorted seafood, steamed veggies/ salad (he got with his), and fries. Several times both ladies came and checked on us to make sure I food was to our liking. We could haven’t been more pleased with the food and service of the staff. Also they had live music and it made the atmosphere feel very comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely be back before we return from our holiday! Thank you so much!

Such an amazing experience! Convenient and lovely location- relaxing and comfortable cafe. Truly outstanding food and staff!!! Best kumara fries, pizzas, calamari, lattes carrot cake AND breakfast sandwiches we have had on several visits to NZ. Gayle and her crew are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We enjoyed everything soooo much - we came back 4 times and look forward to another opportunity next visit to NZ. We would give this cafe unlimited stats if that was an option!!!
