Old School Cafe, Bar and Restaurant is located halfway between Collingwood and Farewell Spit, in the original building that once served as the house of learning for the children of Pakawau. It is open for lunch and dinner, with a large blackboard menu offering plenty of choice. Dining is available indoors and outdoors, alongside a full bar, a pool table and a dart board. Takeaways may not be available at peak times.

We visited here last friday, a short walk from the nearby campground we stayed at….Just for a look really and a few drinks…we were virtually swept off our feet… the place has real character and class, run by dedicated fun people. We knew absolutely no one on arrival but left after enjoying meeting the local patrons. We didn’t dine but noted the menu and the quality of the meals being brought out… I highly recommend the School cafe 🥁

We were a group of six and all had delicious meals, the teriyaki salad was truly worth ordering. What a great night out straight over from the camping ground. We had a great time

Specials Smokey pork burger was one of the best burgers I’ve had. 10/10 service was great 2 person team and they were pumping out food and drink faster then most restaurants with the same number of guests. Would highly recommend and we will be back.
