Quiet private and restful. House was clean with a small, but well appointed kitchen.

You will never meet people kinder than Mike and Anne! We were living in New Zealand when the pandemic first started and lost our jobs and home simultaneously. We had 48 hours to find somewhere to live and we still cannot believe that we found Orinoco Retreat. We ended up staying for almost 5 months in total. The cottage was very well equipped and homely and the location was idyllic. There are so many interesting walks and places to see near by including Abel Tasman National Park, Motueka, Nelson, amongst others. What stands out more than anything in our minds however is Anne and Mike´s hospitality - they are warm, friendly, interesting people who made us feel so welcome and really looked after us during a difficult period of time for everyone. If we ever make it back to New Zealand, we will be sure to pop by and say hello. Thank you so much Mike and Anne, we hope you are keeping well!

Although a little dated, it just adds to the charm of the place. Surrounded by farmland with animals on ya door step. A nice cosy farm house with plenty of room for the family.

Beautiful home with excellent amenities. A great place to relax with large rooms, two living areas, sunroom and a lovely quaint kitchen. Some wonderful small touches like board games, Netflix, visitor book, DVD collection, extra TV in eating area, help make the experience that much better. Some great outdoor activities on the farm itself give it some extra sparkle on warmer days. Weather was very cold but lots of heaters in the house make you forget that. Only gripe is the shower is outside in the laundry and has bad pressure. It's enough but there is a large bath that may alleviate that problem. Would easily go back again multiple times.
