Beautiful location next to river, great views and nice people at the tavern as you enter. Cheap beer there, $10 per pint too. Some people have complained about sandflies but these flies next to the river did not bite, they're just a bit of a pain if you don't have mesh covering on tent or campervan. The views and location are perfect, except if you don't have mesh covering on your tent or van.

Super nice area! Great mountain and nature surrounding. So awesome to swim in the river. There are one toilet and shower do it’s basic! A lot of space. Only downside there are a lot of sandflies. At evening they are merciless. You need repellent!!!

1 of New Zealands most iconic pubs. Look at the photos, talk to Kim. She knows her rugby too 🏉

Amazing spot, hot shower unit x2, only one was working but the facilities were very clean. Would have been a five star review if it wasn't for the swarms of sandflies. Cool camping experience overall, amazing to see and hear the wekas, and they came up super close! Great spot next ro the river.

Great value place to stay. Others complained about the toilets but they were fine! $10 a night and you pay in the pub up the path. Be cautious of sandflies, they rival Fiordlands!
