Quinney's Bush Camp is a family-run holiday park on the Motupiko River, about 52 km from Nelson on SH6. Started in 1961 by Ray Quinney, it is now hosted by Mark, Marama and Andrew Quinney. The camp offers non-powered and powered sites, cabins, caravans and four themed tents, plus a water slide, flying fox and go-kart track. Dogs are welcome on a lead, and day visitors can access facilities for a fee.
We've been several times, and it's now an annual must-do. Absolutely recommend to anyone who loves camping, especially if you have kids. There's plenty to keep them entertained, from flying fox, water slides, swimming in the river, feeding farm animals & ducks, go-karting, playground, skatepark & marshmallow toasting on their free braziers. The kitchen en bathroom facilities are always clean & tidy + rubbish & recycling removal. There is also the walking/running trial around the camp for fit peeps. And they now have a newly built cafe with really good coffee & real fruit ice cream!

We love it here! Absolutely! We come once or twice a year, 2 years un a row we came 3 time for 4 - 6 days each. Definitely Waitangi weekend. Kids ride bikes and make friends with random kids, a few of the friends arrange to meet up at Quinnies again. Im here now and 10 minutes ago booked for next year.

A great and wild experience. It’s unfortunate they had to remove the little flying foxes. I think that’s where they actually had to work together and cooperate a lot. And my kids definitely made contact to others and connected there to make new friends.

Quinney's have been long many children's memories for camping at the top of the South. You can't go wrong if you have kids to spend time here camping, either in a tent, caravan or renting one of the glamping tents, caravans or cabins. The whole camp is created with children in mind. There are farm animals, eels, ducks, tortoises, water slides, cable slides, parks, basket ball court, bike tracks, skate park and then the ultimate swimming hole in the river with a diving platform and a water slide. Kids enjoys the swimming hole till late at night if they are not biking all over the place. It's a dream for kids and a place where lots of friendships and memories are made.

Our second year at Quinney's Bush and despite some rather average weather, we all had an absolutely amazing time. Our kids really love it here and as parents we always feel at ease knowing how safe and family orientated this camp is. The staff are always lovely (even if you have to wake them in the middle of the night! ) and the facilities are always well looked after. We found the BBQ areas soooo useful and even though we bought a brand new BBQ especially for the trip, we hardly used it because the hot plate were so much easier. The best thing about Quinney's however is of course the ability to bring our dearly loved furr baby with us! This was the absolute cherry on top and made our family holiday complete. An adventure paradise for the kids - you won't regret booking here! Thank you so much Quinney Family. We will see you all again next year
