Rare Creations, Interactive Wooden Art Gallery

AWESOME! We’re visiting from NYC and I was so glad we stopped here. This place has so, so many cool things going on with all manner of wooden and mechanical gadgets, like different sorts of Rube Goldberg machines, solar powered model planes, helicopters, really nice Damascus knives, beautiful and intricate wooden clocks and lamps, model ships, nice wooden and other artwork displays for the home, etc. A ton of things are interactive and they make a lot of the wooden pieces right on site. (Almost?) everything is for sale and if we lived here I would buy way more I’m honestly mad at myself I can’t list all the crazy cool stuff it has as that’s really just the start. I’m in my 30s now and had a blast — I felt like a kid again with how exciting things were. If you or your kids are into Legos, engineering, design, you will love this place!

Went with a friend because I was in search of carpentry souvenirs for my father. Was pleasantly surprised at how interactive the place is! Definitely brought out my inner child and the owner is very friendly. Recommend for anyone with kids or anyone interested in tinkering.

I’ve been there almost 2 years ago with my partner, and found it again today by miracle ! Such a lovely unique gallery. The owner is super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend to stop there to anyone. There is not two places like that in New Zealand. Or even in the world! Kids and adults would be amazed about all their creations.

Amazing gallery with many interactive displays. Functional furniture, jewellery, gifts for children, a mesmerising train set running below the ceiling. A must visit when in the Nelson area. Thoroughly enjoyable.
