Many thanks to DJ Galanjah for the wonderful recommendation to come here! The vegan and vegetarian burgers tasted fantastic. We were entertained by Galanjah's great music in a very good atmosphere!

Wow - this place easily was one of our favorite restaurant/bars in NZ. Draft list was filled with great local craft beer options (Townshend is amazing - try it). Staff were super kind and patient especially when they unexpectedly got slammed by several large groups. The food was truly phenomenal. We ordered the steak with blue cheese butter and the old bay wings, but were so flavorful and tender. The outdoor seating area was cozy and welcoming. We met a few other travelers there and we were all just enjoying the good drinks, eats, and vibes. We almost came back another night but the road from Abel Tasman after hiking all day is no joke. We’ve been home for 3 weeks now and we still talk about Roots, we can’t wait to come back again!

Really enjoyed our meals here. Lamb shank & vegetables were delicious and the Butter chicken delightful 😊. Plus 2 nice craft beers. Staff are great. Ate in yard by the warm fire.
