Split Apple Rock

It’s a beautiful bush clad pristine beach. The walk is about 15 minutes down a steep hill. A bit of a climb back but well worth it. It was a stunning sunny winter’s day. The rock appeared to its best advantage.

It’s a pretty easy walk down to the beach where you can see this fascinating rock. The thing to keep in mind is if the tide is in, it’s not easy to move up and down the beach. It’s really cool seeing the rock from a tour boat, tours leave from Kaiteriteri that will take you to it. I’m really glad I got to see this landmark while visiting the area.

Seagulls' favorite perching spot. It was cloudy when I was there and the tide was low enough if you're brave enough you'll probably be able to swim to it. There is a cave nearby where you can wander around. Quite scary but good experience.

Nice to see the split apple rock. The road was closed so we walked 8km to go there and we didn’t understand why the road was closed. Nice place if you have the time. You can also take a towel to swim if you have enough time !

This Icon Rock formation is just baffling. Where did it come from? How was it so perfectly positioned? We may never know, the beauty of nature and all it's mysteriousness.
