The Apple Shed Kitchen & Bar

Mapua is a great location and the restuarant a great setting. The best meal we have had in Nelson for some time. Lamb shoulder was delicious and fish of the day superb. Eva our waitress was wonderful. Our thanks to the whole team ❤️

Great food, fantastic service and a nice view! The carpaccio was great, real good combination of flavours. The risotto primavera was really fresh and had a nice amount of lemon. The steak was very well cooked, but I would've liked some more vegetables or some form of potato. It felt a little light for a main. And the desserts, we had 3, were really great flavours. Absolutely best place we ate so far in NZ! On a weekend day you have to make a reservation, or come back a bit later.

We had a lovely lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My hubby had the beer battered gurnard with chips and slaw. I had Apple Shed Croquettes (smoked fish and potato) with slaw. Both meals perfect. We shared the eton mess which is plant based dessert - no dairy or eggs. Service was superb.

Another delicious lunch at the Appleshed. I began with fish and chips. The fish was battered with a light, non greasy batter, the fish, delicate within. The chips also non greasy were plentiful and tasty. Dessert for me was Eton Mess, a NZ version, better than the original. Superb. Thank you for the birthday candle!
