The Creek House is a self-contained modern beach house at The Barn Cabins & Camp in Mārahau, 14 Harvey Road, 100 metres from the start of the Abel Tasman Track. It sits on the creek and looks out over the beach. The Barn was established in 1993 and also offers private cabins, glamping, dorm rooms and campsites, plus an on-site food truck, shop and native tree nursery.
A true hidden gem! Who would have thought that on a campsite you can find such a lovely and tranquil hideaway! A really lovely new comfortable house in nature, overlooking the natural park and sea. We were here in high season and could not hear any noise from the campsite. Sitting on the lovely terrace with nice comfortable outdoor furniture you can enjoy nature and have company of a flock of fun geese and roaming Weko’s and quarrelling pukeko’s. We fell in love with the lonely white goose. The service was impeccable. They really went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable. The bedroom is lovely and our 23 year old daughter slept on the bed/couch in the living room which was made up into a really nice bed. We looked at the Barn, the cottage next door. Lovely too and more comfortable than the pictures on Google maps make believe so that is definitely also a good alternative. We stayed 3 nights but would loved to stay much longer.
