Dave who owns and runs the shop is a wealth of knowledge. I’ve moved abroad out of Motueka years ago and have since been looking for a shop with the same atmosphere, and a retailer and carver with the same depth of knowledge about the minerals and earth processes that produce them. Daves prices are amongst the fairest I’ve come across both for minerals he sells and the services he provides. Miss the rock fella very much.

The owner is extremely kind, patient and knowledgeable. We had a great time choosing pieces from his extensive collection of pounamu (NZ greenstone / jade), ranging from uncut rocks to polished stones, carved necklaces and earrings. Everything was very reasonably priced. Highly recommended for pounamu gifts.

What a great shop, and an even greater proprietor! David is a kind soul knows his stuff and was so excited to share his knowledge and love of his craft with us. His prices are more than reasonable and I saw (and bought) some of the coolest stones I've ever seen. So glad we happened in to his shop!!!
