The Stables Tavern & Restaurant is a restaurant and bar at 1 McGlashen Avenue, Richmond, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The venue occupies a restored historic stables building containing original brick work, with an upstairs dining room, a downstairs dining area, and a large covered courtyard with live music and a screen for sporting events. The Stables also caters for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and business functions, with an on-site or delivered catering service.

There are few places in the Nelson Tasman region I trust with my Ribs. The Smoking Barrel in Motueka and The Stables in Richmond. Most places will cook ribs till they dry out and cover it with sause/gravy to hide the fact. Kai cooked properly should add jucies/flavours to your mouth NOT suck it away... The Smoking Barrel costs 3x more. The Stables is value for $$$, AND good kai. Throw in a jug...and it's a good day. Tohei Mauriora MikeE

The Ribeye meal was delicious cooked to perfection 馃憣 we enjoyed it so much we went the next night as well. Bubbly friendly staff our waitress Chrissy was amazing nothing was a bother. Highly recommend
