The Villa is a German-inspired cafe in a refurbished old villa on Whitby Way, Wakefield, run by owner Michael Meissner, who trained in Germany and has 26 years of hospitality experience. It serves coffee made with certified organic beans from Pomeroys, a seasonally changing food menu, and local wines and beers. The dog-friendly cafe has outdoor seating and sits on the Nelson/Tasman cycle trail. It won Café of the Year 2018 (upper South Island) and holds a 4.7-star Google rating.

Stopped at this gorgeous Cafe . the lady who served me was outstanding. Very experienced and very kind. I cannot rate her service highly enough.highky recommend a visit.

We just moved to Wakefield and this is the cutest wee place ever! Loveliest staff ever, so helpful and friendly with the kids! Loved the different drink and Kai options - will be back 🤍 “probably tomorrow” as my 5 year old said 😂

Celebrated today my wife's Birthday at "The Villa" and we got totally spoiled. Great atmosphere, delicious food, extremely tasty and a lovely "spot on" service. Thank you very much "Chef Michael" and also a special thanks to the great "maître d'' Megan - you both made our day!!!
