Totaranui Campground

No frills kiwi campground. No powered sites. Glorious location close to the beach. Each section is demarcated by lovely mature trees, so you don't notice crowds so much. Watch out for the cheeky wekas, they will steal your food and rubbish!!

Pretty big camp ground doc lady in the office was really helpful the facilities are ok flush toilets and cold showers or set up your own solar shower in shower block. It was packed but apparently always is.

Great facilities for a DOC campsite and located right on an incredible beach. There are also loads of hikes you can do on foot from the site. The 12km track to the campground is tough driving but worth it.

Absolutely amazing place to stay, very well organised, clean toilets and cold shower, directly located at beach. Bit remote and most cruises for abel tasman do not depart from here (but you can catch the boat here) But amazing place to stay!

Loved this place! It’s DOC so expected basic, but it’s got clean flushing toilets, cold showers and sinks to wash up. It’s a 20 second walk from your camp to the beach, which is huge with golden sand. Walking along the coastal path to other quiet bays is gorgeous too. The long windy hilly gravel road is not too bad, our Hiace made it back up after two days of heavy rain. If I could minus half a star for the sandflies and standing water on some of the pitches I would, but they didn’t take away from the experience!! So cool to spend some time here out in the kiwi bush, definitely recommend if the weathers going to be nice!
