Flaxmore Vineyards is a family-owned winery and cellar door in the Moutere hills near Upper Moutere, established in 2006 by Stuart and Patricia Anderson. The 9-hectare vineyard produces Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Rosé, with a cellar door opened in 2019 and an art gallery added in 2020. Visitors can join a wine tasting, browse the gallery, or walk the vineyard; dogs on leads are welcome. Open weekends from October to April, and by appointment otherwise.
We’ve been to many wineries in New Zealand and in other parts of the world, but their wines were some of the best we had! The rose, the Pinot griz and the south western Pinot noir were so good that we bought them all! The owner was so nice and had so much knowledge and a great life story! We had a great time there.

It was a pleasure to do a wine tasting with you, P. Really appreciate the work you and Stuart do. We will enjoy our lovely bottle of Pinot Gris... Thank you!

I've been to many, many wineries throughout the world and this was my all time favorite. Yes the wines were excellent (the Southerly Pinot Noir was particularly interesting), and the setting was beautiful and relaxing. But what made the difference was the owners. Patricia was absolutely delightful to talk to. She was of course very knowledgeable and passionate about the wines, but what set it apart, was how pleasant she was to talk to about all sorts of wine and non-wine subjects. I could think of no better way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon than tasting wonderful wines, in a beautiful settings, with such enjoyable conversation.
