Gravity Cellars is a winery and cellar door at 243 Old Coach Road, Mahana, offering wine tasting from the group's Awatere River, Sileni, Bannock Brae, Waimea and LV labels. Its four-level gravity-fed winery, one of only two in the Southern Hemisphere, runs guided tours led by Winemaker-in-Residence Brett Bermingham. The cellar door serves a seasonal lunch menu by chef Ben Knight, awarded a 2025 Cuisine Good Food Guide Hat, open Wednesday to Sunday.
Amazing views, food, wine & staff. The setting is so beautiful. Enjoyed the corn ribs, delicious salmon pate and divine bruschetta. We will be back.

Took the family from the UK. The food, service, setting and views are beyond compare. Every dish was exceptional! This would have to be Nelson Tasmans most complete culinary experience.

Loved everything about the experience. Brilliant setting, wonderful professional friendly staff, and an excellent choice of dishes. Having shared plates allows tasting so many different flavours. Well done chef on your flavour blends. The presentation and taste of the coconut and mango dessert was an absolute joy.

This place has a five star setting with panoramic views. The venue is beautiful. We did a self-guided tasting that was nicely presented and explained. We spent a couple of hours there taking in the views and absorbing a couple of glasses of the wine we liked. Come out and get some!
