Hop Federation Brewery
About
Hop Federation is a craft brewery based at 627 Main Road, Riwaka, in the Tasman District. The founders relocated from Auckland in 2013 with their daughter and opened with four New Zealand-style ales; the range has since grown into a wider selection of hop-forward beers. In 2025 the brewery joined the DNA Brewing family, led by brewer Dave Nicholls. The taproom serves alcohol and beer, with wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance.

This is a great little taproom with a good selection of generous sample pours. You can try many different variations of the traditional IPA as well as some great pilsners and lagers. They have a good selection of hard cider as well and plenty of options for cans to take home or you can have 1 L bottles filled from the tap. They also have a good selection of meats and cheeses and I like the fact that they have E bike charging stations and plenty of parking. I would definitely recommend, this as a quick stop to check out some local brews.
